Four Six McBabies so far...

Adoption has been a part of our lives for the last 7 years. We started the journey out of desperation. During the journey our desperation turned to conviction. This site tells stories. They are the stories of our journey. We love sharing this journey with anyone who wants to hear and we’d love to hear yours too! Read the stories of how we adopted each of our boys and check back to keep up with the progress of our most recent adoption.

David and Judith McNeely (Dawson, Smyth, Davis, Emerson, Sawyer and Wyatt)

Open thread for messages to David, Judith and the Mcbabies

Hey everybody, this is the McNeely’s friend Stephen Davis. Some of you probably know me. I helped David and Judith with getting the site up and help out here and there. Forgive me the intrusion.

I know they are both too occupied to write anything at all right now, so I just wanted to put up a post where any of their friends could leave messages and comments for them to see. I know that many of you want to reach out to them right now and let them know how much you care. So if you want to let them know how you’re praying for them or offer them some encouragement or a verse for them to read later, leave it in the comments for them.

I’m going to see David and Mrs. Smyth this afternoon at the DC airport for a few hours on their way to Ethiopia to pick up Sawyer and Wyatt. In the off chance anyone leaves messages today before 6 p.m., I’ll be glad to deliver any messages to David before he leaves, and maybe bring back a quick update from David on his way to Ethiopia this afternoon.

Anything left during the week I’ll get to him on his way back.

Thanks for letting me drop in. Leave messages in the comments.

APRIL 26th, 2009

I do not pretend to be as eloquent a writer as my husband but will try to keep you up with our journey.  We are excited about preparing for David to leave on Saturday.  Their is still so much to be done but pray the Lord would provide what he and my mom need in case we forget.  i definitely ask for prayers as they fly almost 24 hours on a plane to meet Sawyer and Wyatt.  Oh how sad i am not be there to hug them but rest in knowing my husband and mother will fill that gap.  I so long to hold them, feed them, and play with them.  How sweet it will be to finally meet them myself on the 9th.  i I will try to post some pictures of them as soon as i figure out how to do it!  i will also try to keep you updated on them while they are in Ethiopia.  Pray as we prepare this week for peace in our home and in our boys.

Welcome

Don’t know how you found us, but glad you’re here.  Judith will be writing posts about our most recent journey.  David heads to Ethiopia on May 2 to adopt two more boys.  They will return to the States on May 9.  More should be coming to this site over the next several weeks.  We’ll put links and list other resources that have been so beneficial to us over the years.  We’ll have pictures and videos as well.  And hopefully, we’ll even have ways you can join in the process of adoption.

We hope you can use this site.  We hope you can pass it along to others who are interested in the story of adoption.  Some are interested in adopting.  Some are interested in helping others to adopt.  Some are interested in helping those already adopted to grow, develop, etc.  Some are interested in others things associated with caring for orphans.  Maybe you just want to hear more about how all of this happens.  We don’t have a whole lot yet but what we do have is our story.  We hope it gives you a perspective of adoptive parents, birth parents, adoption workers and agencies, and soon we’ll give you the perspective of the orphans themselves.

One more thing.  We’d love to hear your stories too.  We NEVER grow tired of hearing how families come to be.  So post them here.  (We are technologically challenged but we think that can happen.)  Blessings to all who visit here.
